For Sale: Heritage DMUs Unit 121020 & 121034

        Description

Chiltern Railways is withdrawing its two heritage DMUs units 121020 and 121034 from mainline passenger service in May 2017 and putting them on sale to interested parties. The units are available sold as seen. They both have registration for passenger use on the national rail network and are fitted with Public Address, modern heating, forward facing CCTV, GSM-R radio, data recorders, secondary door retention TPWS and AWS.

The vehicles have been well maintained and used in daily passenger service until May 2017.

121020 is the first of this class to be built by Pressed Steel.

They are available for inspection at Aylesbury Train Maintenance depot (max 2 persons per visit). Those wishing to view the unit must be able to walk around on ballast and climb up into the unit.

        Terms of Sale

       The units are sold as seen.

       Prospective bidders may make an offer for one or both units.

       Funds must be cleared prior to release of the units.

       The unit can be collected by rail from Aylesbury Depot or by road from Tyseley Locomotive works.

       Chiltern Railways reserves the right to withdraw the units from sale at any time and is not obliged to accept the highest offer.

       The unit contains hazardous substances including oils, fuel, coolant and grease. There are asbestos in the floors of both units. The purchaser will need to ensure they have adequate controls in place for asbestos and other hazardous materials.

 

121034 has been requested to attend Old Oak Common Open day(02/09/17) and may be available to transport by road or rail from that location by agreement.

        Class 121 Spare Parts

Chiltern Railways is also disposing of its stock of class 121 spare parts. This includes engines, transmissions, fuel tanks, vacuum brake cylinders, vacuum reservoirs, brake blocks, bogie frames, 1 trailer wheelset and various miscellaneous parts. Anyone interested in acquiring spares should contact Simon Jarrett (simon.jarrett@chilternrailways.co.uk) by email with details of any specific parts they wish to acquire.
